A man died on Sunday evening on the N2 near Eindhoven. The car he was in spun for unknown reasons and collided with the guardrail. The car ended up backwards on the roadway. The man then got out of the car and decided to cross the A2 and the N2. In doing so, he was shoveled.
The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
CPR
People who saw the collision happen put their cars aside and tried to resuscitate the victim. Several ambulances were called and a trauma helicopter also came to the N2, but the victim could not be saved.
The driver who hit the man was not found at the scene of the collision. He turned himself in to the police station a short time later. He has been arrested and is being heard.
Car fire
Part of the N2 was closed due to the fatal accident. Two cars collided in the traffic jam that subsequently arose on the diversion route. One of these cars caught fire. Someone was injured in this. He was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
On Monday morning, the left lane of the A2 from Eindhoven to Maastricht is still closed from the De Hogt junction to the Leenderheide junction, due to emergency repairs.
