A 28-year-old man fell off a cruise ship overboard in the Gulf of Mexico off New Orleans. He spent at least six hours in the water before being pulled out by the Coast Guard, NBC News reports.
US authorities said the man’s survival was a miracle because he had spent so much time in the water without a tracking device.
A person overboard report was received on Thursday at 2:30pm local time. It is not yet clear how the man ended up in the water, informs btv.
Video taken during the rescue operation shows the man relatively calm in the rough water.
