TEXAS – A manhunt that occurred Thursday tore through several upstate communities and resulted in the arrest of one person.
Parker County Sheriff’s Office Chief Russ Authier said the incident began when officers asked Scott Eric Ford, 35, to stop in the 500 block of East State Highway 199 in Springtown.
Authier added that Ford’s motorcycle was also missing the license plate. Ford then refused to stop and thus began the chase where the police chased him through roads and streets.
Ford drove more than 60 miles per hour and also ran multiple traffic lights, according to the statement.
A woman was also riding the motorcycle with Ford and at some point during the chase, Ford dropped her at a gas station in the Lake Worth area where she was arrested.
Later, Ford drove to a Fort Worth community located in the 5000 block of Volder Drive where he barricaded himself in a house.
The Fort Worth Special Tactics Team (SWAT) then arrived at the home to negotiate with the suspect.
Several residents managed to get off the property and explained to officers that Ford was not armed.
Upon entering, the SWAT team found Ford hiding under a bed where he was arrested and is now in the Parker County Jail.
