A man has died trying to save a family from drowning during a trip to Jamaica, BTV reported.
Remo Douglas, 34, of Bristol, England, managed to save his girlfriend, toddler and stepdaughter from a flooded river in heavy rain on 16 December. He died along with his 11-year-old granddaughter.
His brother Conneith Douglas said Remo was “the life and soul of the company”.
“We were all shocked and heartbroken. He was my brother and my friend,” Conneith says.
His mother Yutlin Douglas said everyone is devastated by the loss.
Remo’s family plans to arrange his funeral in Jamaica and a friend of his has started a fundraising campaign to help his loved ones.
