DRACHTEN – An expensive Porsche Panamera was seized by the police on Wednesday evening. The car was removed from a parking lot at the Martin Luther Kingsingel in Drachten around 9 p.m.
The 65-year-old driver from Noordwolde was involved in a collision on the Zuiderdwarsvaart near Blauwgras around 5 p.m. There he collided with another car. The driver of the Porsche drove on after the collision and is said to have said he had to get medicine. In the collision there was only damage to the eyes.
The Porsche was later crushed by the police and pulled over. An investigation showed that the man did not have a valid driver’s license. An official report has been drawn up for this. Later in the evening, the car was seized for investigation in consultation with the public prosecutor.
