An unusual situation on the Manhattan Bridge ended in tragedy when a man died after falling from the structure while trying to scale it in his apparent escape from a traffic accident.
Police say the 25-year-old man was involved in a two-car crash around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.
After the accident, the man fled on foot from the lower level of the bridge in the direction of b.
While trying to scale the bridge to escape, he tragically fell from a height and was killed when he hit the street below, authorities said.
Police are investigating the reasons why the man decided to flee the scene of the accident in the first place.
