Man Dies After Falling in Simulated Cave Zone at Adventure Center

Miss Olivia Short O’Keeffe’s sister posted a message on Facebook on Saturday, saying: “3pm today I was sitting next to Carl and say goodbye to him forever. He is my younger brother and in recent years has become my best friend. I love him so much and we keep in touch every day to discuss and share our day-to-day stories.”

“On some weekends I also spend time with him and his kids. I have been with him since his accident in Keswick on April 22. He was taken to Carlyle Hospital. with serious injuries Obviously, the injury was severe and he might not survive. So we moved him to a single room so he could die with dignity. I was heartbroken like everyone else. in our family.”

A spokesman for Cumberland Council said: “We have been informed of an incident at Kong Adventure Center. and is investigating the matter as a regulator,” earlier this week.

A spokesperson for Kong Adventure said: “On April 22, a person was trapped in a cave system. Authorities tried to help the man and all emergency procedures were followed. But it was clear that outside help was needed. both firefighters Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, Nurses and Kong Adventure staff work to the best of their ability to help the injured. Mr Carl was later taken to Carlyle Hospital for treatment.”
