The operations manager further states that the driver of the tractor is physically unharmed, but taken by the incident.

He says that crime technicians and the accident team from the police to the National Roads Administration have been notified and are on their way to the scene of the accident.

Traffic problems in several places

This afternoon, the emergency services went to the E18 at Holmestrand, following a report of a chain collision in the northbound lane.

Three cars were involved in the incident, and there were no serious injuries.

As a result of the accident, E 18 was closed for a period, and that there was several kilometers of queues at the site. The road was opened at 16.05.

Operations manager in the South-East police district, Erik Gunnerød, tells Dagbladet that this is the worst day of the year.

Expected a lot of traffic

Earlier Sunday morning informed Vegtrafikksentralen that they expected a lot of traffic on the roads.

The communal holiday is over for many today, and several will return home from holiday.

– We would encourage people to calculate more time, and then you have to adapt to the traffic conditions and weather conditions that are coming. Most likely, there will be many road users throughout the afternoon and evening, says traffic operator at Vegtrafikksentralen Sør, Kjetil Løvås, to Dagbladet on Sunday morning.

He expected that there would be a lot of traffic, especially on the E18 northwards from the Porsgrunn area.
