Man died after boat capsized

At 21.35 on Saturday, the police in the Inland were notified that a boat had capsized on Austmarka in Kongsvinger municipality.

A man in his 60s was picked up from the water, and has been confirmed dead. The next of kin have been notified, the police say.

The police first reported that it was uncertain whether more people were involved in the incident, but later on Saturday night it was clarified that no more people were involved.

– The police were notified of this incident via the VET center at 21.35. It is unclear when the boat has capsized, says assignment manager Sigrid Reenaas in the Innlandet police district to TV 2.

The local fire brigade conducted surface rescue in anticipation of divers requisitioned from Oslo.

– We do searches from boats and wear wetsuits, said duty manager at the 110 exchange in Innlandet Arve Heimdal.
