Man critically injured in transporter fire in Bremen

A man was critically injured in a van fire in Bremer Überseestadt early Monday afternoon. According to the fire brigade, he suffered severe burns and a head wound. The man had to be flown by helicopter to a special clinic in Hamburg, said the fire department.

The Mercedes Vito had burned out on Cuxhavener Strasse. According to the fire brigade, the situation on site “indicated a sudden spread of the fire”. As usual with fires, the police have started investigating the cause of the fire.
