Manchester –
Manchester City introduced the new uniforms for the 2021/2022 season. Historic goal Sergio Aguero so the inspiration.
City as usual use sky blue as the dominant color in their jersey. Puma is still a supporter of the reigning Premier League champions.
For its newest jersey, City still slips white on the side. Then, there is something interesting about the pattern used by City for its latest jersey.
Quoted from the official City website, the pattern is in the form of a mosaic depicting the match scoreboard. Then on the back collar is written ’93:20′.
This is a sign of respect Manchester City to their legend, Aguero, who scored against Queens Park Rangers in that minute, on the final weekend of the 2011/12 season.
At that time, City won the Premier League for the first time as well as started the club’s hegemony in the competition. After that, City became the team with the most number of Premier League titles in the last 10 years, namely five times.
So the new home jersey was launched to commemorate that dramatic moment.
“I will never forget that moment. When the goal happened, we knew that something great had happened, something special,” said former City right-back Micah Richards.
“I think that season will be difficult to repeat. This new jersey is a perfect tribute to one of the historic seasons City.”
