The meeting between Borussia Monchengladbach y Manchester City for the Champions League Round of 16 was moved from Germany headquarters to Budapest, Hungary due to the sanitary protocols of Covid-19 that maintains the Teutonic nation.
This is the third European competition game that has to change cities, after the German government upheld its restrictions on travel from England.
The UEFA thanked both clubs for their cooperation and the Hungarian Federation for the facilities for holding the meeting.
“UEFA would like to thank Borussia Vfl 1900 Mochengladbach and Manchester City for their close cooperation and support, as well as the Hungarian Football Federation for their help and for agreeing to host the match,” the body said.
The compromise between RB Leipzig y el Liverpool, originally agreed to be held in Germany, will also be held in Budapest for the same reasons.
