Man City vs Liverpool Duel Becomes a Decisive Premier League Champion?

Defeat Manchester City heat up title competition Premier League with Liverpool. There is potential for a duel Man City vs Liverpool April will be the winner.

Manchester City lost 2-3 at the Etihad Stadium to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. The result opened wide opportunities for Liverpool to dock.

Liverpool are currently in second place in the Premier League standings with 57 points from 25 matches. They are six points behind Manchester City at the top, who have played one game more.

There is a potential that the winner will be determined in a direct duel between the two teams, when Manchester City entertain Liverpool at the Etihad on April 9. Both teams are equally not easy to lose points.

Liverpool did go without a win in three games (2 draws, 1 loss) in a row in the Christmas-New Year period. But in the span of the last 14 matches, they won the other 11 matches.

Manchester City is no less impressive. Pep Guardiola’s men had 15 matches without losing and only drawing once, until Tottenham were silenced.

“The competition is clearly alive again. I don’t think Liverpool will just give up. As we saw from last weekend’s results, what needs to be done is to win the game and hope to get a result like Spurs picked,” said former Arsenal player Ray Parlour told talkSPORT.

“Liverpool players are very experienced and will say ‘Let’s try to take every point and put pressure on the opponent’.”

“Man City are clearly the favourites by a narrow margin, but Liverpool cannot be ignored because they’ve been through it and won. It will be a great closing season.”

“Just look at the match on April 9th. It will be a big game. If Man City can win it, and continue to win until that point, it should lock the title,” he continued.
