Jakarta –
Manchester City are confident they can recruit Jude Bellingham next summer. However, they have to compete with Real Madrid, who are also eyeing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
ESPN reported, Bellingham is one of Man City’s priority targets in the upcoming transfer window. At the age of just turning 20 this year, he will be prepared as a long-term asset.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also reportedly interested in him, but Man City and Madrid are more likely to get Bellingham’s signature if he is released in the summer.
Dortmund hope to keep Bellingham at least until 2024, but if there is an offer at a high price, say over 100 million Euros, they are unlikely to refuse. They’ve been used to it for a long time.
If Bellingham is successfully brought in by Man City, there is a possibility that Bernardo Silva will be released. His name has always appeared in the last few transfer windows, and Madrid are monitoring him as well as a backup plan.
Apart from Silva, Ilkay Guendogan may also be released by Man City. His contract is only until June this year and has not been extended. He has the opportunity to move to Barcelona for free in the summer, as has been rumored so far.
This season, Bellingham has performed brilliantly with Dortmund, scoring 10 goals and six assists in 34 appearances. Edin Terzic’s team also still has the chance to win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles at the end of the season.
