Manchester City can finish the title race Premier League which took place fiercely against Liverpool on this weekend.
Man City just won a landslide victory 5-0 over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (8/5). The result made Pep Guardiola’s squad back to the top of the standings.
Collection of maximum points that makes Man City in the front position to embrace the Premier League title this season. Kevin De Bruyne and friends can even do it this weekend.
This can happen if Liverpool lose and Man City win again in the middle of this week. If this scenario occurs then the reigning champions need only one point at the weekend.
Liverpool will play away to Aston Villa headquarters at Villa Park on Wednesday (11/5) early morning WIB. Meanwhile, Man City were hosted by Wolverhampton Wanderers a day later.
If Liverpool lose and Man City win in the middle of this week, the difference in points between the two teams in the standings widens to six points. Man City will collect 89 points and Liverpool with 83 points in second place.
Thus Man City only needs one additional point when they travel to West Ham United headquarters on Sunday (15/5). The Citizens will win regardless of the results achieved by Liverpool.
A draw against West Ham will make Man City collect 90 points in Week 37 of the Premier League. Liverpool do still have two games remaining, but Mohamed Salah et al.’s maximum points are only 89 points if they are able to wipe out the victory.
That means Man City can ensure the Premier League title more quickly. However, if both teams are able to win in the remaining matches, the certainty of Man City winning the Premier League title will only occur in the last week.
