According to evidence cited by the prosecution, on August 17 at 9 pm, Williams and the 22-year-old victim were waiting for the J train at the Myrtle Avenue station in Bed-Stuy. Williams allegedly made a sexually suggestive gesture at the victim and then grabbed her buttocks. However, when the victim confronted him, he threatened her and called her an offensive name, according to the investigation.
The two allegedly got on the J train bound for Manhattan and the victim asked Williams why he groped her and used that slur. Williams then slapped her, punched her repeatedly and threw her to the ground, according to evidence. Bystanders pulled him away from the victim and he moved into another car, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The victim was treated for a broken nose at Lennox Hill Hospital, according to Brooklyn prosecutors.
“Every person in our city deserves to use the subway safely, regardless of their gender identity or expression,” González said. “This defendant allegedly touched an innocent person and then violently attacked them. We will continue to vigorously prosecute violent individuals and stand up for the rights of all members of Brooklyn’s LGBTQ community.”
