Man charged with alleged stockpiling of weapons for exclusive use

Mexico City. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) obtained the linkage to proceedings against a man who was carrying 15 firearms, cartridges and magazines, for his probable responsibility in the crimes of stockpiling firearms and illegal possession of cartridges for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

According to the Homologated Police Report (IPH), elements of the Federal Ministerial Police, based on an anonymous complaint and while carrying out investigative work in the town of Palihuiche, Ozuluama, arrested Emeterio “P”, who was traveling aboard a vehicle and upon noticing the presence of the police elements, tried to escape.

The ministry reported that at the scene of the incident, federal agents inspected the car and seized 10 pieces of long-barreled weapons, including the action and firing mechanism; two pieces of long-barreled stocks and five other long-barreled weapons. They also located 399 high-caliber cartridges and 13 magazines.

At the initial hearing, the Control Judge declared the arrest legal and linked him to the process, imposing preventive detention as a precautionary measure and a one-month period for the completion of the complementary investigation.
