A man from Blagoevgrad has not been able to drive his own car for 14 years, even though he bought it and registered it with the police. Already in 2009, his jeep was seized for “checking” by the Ministry of the Interior. After that, the car remained in the enforcement department despite the owner’s repeated attempts to get it back. Even after the court decision in his favor, the police in Gotse Delchev justify that the return procedure takes time to be “legal”.
There is a problem with the number
The story of Dimitar Chongov from the village of Novo Leski was first told in “24 Chasa”. The man told Nova TV that he handed the jeep over to the local police for “safekeeping” after they explained to him that there was a problem with the chassis number. He had previously driven his registered car for a year without a problem.

The most absurd thing in the whole story is that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which seized the jeep, tried to fine the owner for traffic violations committed with the same jeep while it was in their possession. These are penalties for speeding, driving without civil responsibility and others.

Therefore, he has to conduct cases through which the fines are cancelled. In a separate trial, the court ruled that the jeep should be returned to him.

The absurdities do not end here. Chongov understands that his car is already the property of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him, this was done by order of the Minister of Finance, without a court order for confiscation.
