A battered man was beaten by residents in the Tebet Station area, South Jakarta (South Jakarta), after being caught steal motorcycle. There is no identity on the man.
In the video seen by detikcom, Saturday (1/7/2023), the man appears to be wearing a white shirt and long jeans. The perpetrator’s face and nose were bleeding from the beatings of residents.
A number of residents who were emotional were also seen hitting the perpetrator. Then, the perpetrator seemed to be secured in the prayer room so as not to get angry again with the residents.
The perpetrator appeared to be secured by station security officers. The perpetrator is said to be taken to the Tebet Police.
Victim of motorbike theft, Iqbal, said that the incident started when he was hanging out at a coffee shop in the Duri area, Tebet, South Jakarta. He said the perpetrator approached him and asked for help to be delivered to buy a charger.
“I was hanging out at the warkop, he wanted to buy his Android charger at the counter,” said Iqbal.
Iqbal said he was not suspicious of the perpetrator and escorted him to a cell phone counter. When he arrived at the counter, he said that the perpetrator who was driving his motorbike ordered him to get down and immediately took the motorbike away.
“After that he stopped, he stopped and asked him to ask for the android charger, then he immediately accelerated,” he said.
He admitted that he immediately asked for help from other people at the location to chase the perpetrators. He said the perpetrators had been caught in the Tebet Station area.
“I immediately got on a motorbike, people immediately chased me, I was caught at Tebet Station,” said Iqbal.
“His mode of asking to buy an android cable at the counter, he took my motorbike, borrowed it (he said) it had been battered by the masses,” he added.
