A 53-year-old man attempting to place an order at a McDonald’s in Manhattan was knocked to the ground, repeatedly beaten and robbed in a horrific attack that was caught on video, police said.
The victim was hospitalized with a serious head injury after being shot at by the unidentified suspect while using the fast food chain’s self-serve kiosk in Midtown just after 7.30am Monday.
Surveillance video from inside the McDonald’s, located on 7th Avenue, shows the bully coming up behind the victim and knocking her to the ground with a single blow to the head.
The man could be seen getting to his feet before the suspect pushed him against the counter and demanded his wallet, police said.
The suspect was filmed throwing the man to the ground again, repeatedly kicking him in the head, then stealing his phone and wallet from his jacket.
At least one other customer was in the restaurant at the time of the attack, but no one was shown on surveillance coming to the aid of the victim.
The victim was taken by EMS to Bellevue Hospital in critical but stable condition, cops said.
The suspect, who remains at large, was taken under surveillance calmly leaving the McDonald’s and fleeing to nearby Penn Station following the assault.
He was last seen wearing a black winter hat, dark blue The North Face jacket with yellow trim, dark blue, gray and white pants and brown boots, police said.
