NEW YORK – NYPD is looking for a suspect who assaulted an elderly man with a chair and then stole his cell phone in Midtown Manhattan.
The attack took place on Friday, September 9, around 10:30 pm, in front of a commercial establishment located at 370 West 58 Street, according to authorities.
Police said a 66-year-old man was sitting at a table outside when, unprovoked, an unknown individual grabbed a chair and threw it violently at the victim. As a result, the victim dropped the cell phone and the individual proceeded to pick up the phone.
The suspect then fled east on West 58th Street with the stolen cell phone.
The victim sought medical assistance privately in Mount Sinai West and was treated for a broken bone in his forearm.
The individual was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and black and white checkered sneakers.
