“Man Arrested in 30-Year-Old Carol Clark Murder Case”

The murder of Carol Clark made headlines across Britain and sparked a huge police investigation.

For 30 years, the case has been triggered.

Now the murder is making headlines in British newspapers once again, after a man in his 60s has been arrested.

It comes out in one press release from Gloucestershire Police.

Lived a double life

The 32-year-old woman, who according to the British media should have lived a double life as a prostitute, was last seen alive on her way into a car on Friday 26 March 1993.

Two days later, her partially clothed body was found in reeds and scrub along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.

It later emerged that she had been strangled and that her neck had been broken.

Reopened on the 30th anniversary

An extensive police investigation was launched. More than 500 witness statements were taken and several arrests were made, but no one was ever charged with her murder.

On March 28 this year, on the 30th anniversary of the discovery of the body, Gloucestershire police revealed that the case had been reopened after investigators had received “new and significant” information about the case, writing among other things BBC.

On April 4, Gloucestershire Police announced that detectives have now arrested a 66-year-old man on suspicion of Clark’s murder.

“We are determined to get answers and justice for Carol’s family, and this arrest is a positive development in our ongoing investigation,” Usher said.

He encourages anyone who may have information about the case to contact the police.

– There is a dedicated team working on this case, and although we are making progress, I am still asking people to come forward if they feel they may have information that can help us.

He says that Clark’s family has been informed of the arrest.

“My thoughts go out to Carol’s family, who have been updated by police staff on these latest developments,” Usher said.
