A few weeks ago, an argument in the Palermo neighborhood led to a savage attack on the manager of a building. The victim was Rubén (49). While cleaning the entrance to the place where he works, a group of young people got out of a car, came within inches of the hall and began to urinate. The man reproached them, but the response he received was brutal: the group threw bottles and stones at him, beat him to death and then escaped. Rubén ended up in a hospital ward.
That event occurred around 7:30 on August 30 in front of a building located on 4800 Córdoba Avenue, between Armenia and Gurruchaga streets. There, as Rubén told the police from Neighborhood Police Station 14-A, several people got out of a white Citröen Lounge car and began to urinate both on the sidewalk and at the entrance to the building.
The manager – according to his story to the Buenos Aires officials – asked the young people to leave and do it somewhere else. Then, more people got out of the car and together they began to attack the 49-year-old worker. In total, there were five attackers.
The victim defended himself with a broomstick against the hits of bottles and stones that were thrown at him. Witnesses who witnessed the attack filmed part of the sequence. In the images you can see that Rubén confronted the gang even in the middle of Córdoba Avenue.
