Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Indonesian Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan

The man who threatened to shoot presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan arrested by Bareskrim Polri and Polda Jatim. Deputy Chief NasDem Party Ahmad Ali appreciated the swift steps taken by the National Police to provide a sense of security.

“Appreciation to the National Police for swiftly carrying out security for all candidate pairs,” said Mad Ali to journalists, Saturday (13/1/2024).

Mad considers the police’s quick action to arrest Anies’ shooting threat as an answer to the community. That there are laws that work for those who cause terror.

“Because today’s news has created a warning for people who are trying to make threats, create terror. That people cannot be arbitrary,” said Mas Ali.

“It is also a response to the police institution which is starting to be pulled towards politics,” he added.

For this reason, Mad Ali appreciates the National Police for working professionally to provide a sense of security and comfort for all levels of society without exception.

It is known that the police moved quickly to respond to a shooting threat made by someone on social media to Anies Baswedan, on social media. The perpetrator has now been arrested in Jember, East Java.

Information from sources detikcom, Saturday (13/1), the perpetrator was arrested today at around 09.30 WIB. The perpetrator is the owner of the TikTok account @calonistri71600.

The person who threatened Anies’ shooter was male. The perpetrator was arrested in the Kerajan Hamlet area, Ambulu Village, Ambulu District, Jember Regency, East Java.

The perpetrator was arrested due to joint work carried out by the Cyber ​​Sub-Directorate of the East Java Regional Police’s Special Crimes and Criminal Investigation Unit which was backed up by the Cyber ​​Directorate of Bareskrim Polri. The owner of the TikTok account @calonistri71600 is still undergoing intensive questioning by the police.
