Man Arrested for Rape of Young Mother in North Jakarta

The police named a man with the initials ZF (32) as a related suspect rape against a young mother from Aceh with the initials AM (18) in Pademangan, North Jakarta. The police revealed ZF’s motive for raping the victim.

The victim is the wife of ZF’s foster sister with the initials D (27).

“(The perpetrator’s motive was) sex drive, lust,” said North Jakarta Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Iverson Manossoh when contacted by journalists, Saturday (13/5/2023).

Iverson said ZF deliberately asked his adopted brother, who is the victim’s husband, to go shopping. He said that at that time, ZF locked the bedroom door and launched his action on the victim.

“Rape was committed twice, yes, in February and in March, the modus operandi of the victim was locked in the room, yes, the boarding house where the perpetrator lived, with various clever ways told the victim’s husband to shop in several places, then this time was used to commit sexual violence against victims,” ​​he said.

He said ZF was arrested on Friday (12/5) yesterday in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta. He said that his party had been pursuing the perpetrators for about 1 week.

“With the hard work of the North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit team, which for about a week chased the perpetrator of the rape of a woman with the initials AM, the team was able to catch the perpetrator with the initials ZF,” he said.

ZF was charged with Article 6 letter b of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning criminal acts of sexual violence and/Article 285 of the Criminal Code concerning Rape. For his actions, ZF was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
