Man Arrested for Murder of Woman Found in Suitcase in Palembang, South Sumatra

AARN police named the suspect murder against a woman with the initials RM, arrested at his wife’s family home in PalembangSouth Sumatra.

“(The arrest) was at his wife’s family house,” West Cikarang Police Chief Commissioner Gurnald Patiran said when confirmed, Thursday (2/5).

Gurnald said the arrest was also witnessed by the suspect’s wife. His wife was said to have been shocked when she saw AARN arrested by the authorities.

“Yes, it must surprise you,” said Gurnald.

Previously, the body of a woman from Bandung with the initials RM (50) was found in a suitcase in Cikarang district, Bekasi, West Java on Thursday (25/4).

In this case, the police arrested a man with the initials AARN in Palembang, South Sumatra. Now AARN has been named as a suspect and charged under Article 338 of the Criminal Code and Article 365 of the Criminal Code.

Police revealed that the suspect and the victim were recorded on CCTV cameras at a hotel in Bandung.

In the CCTV footage, the suspect in a black shirt and the victim in a red shirt with a gray scarf entered the hotel room around 09.51 WIB.

The suspect left the hotel room around 18.39 WIB, carrying a black briefcase containing the victim’s body.

Police also revealed that the suspect had had sex with the victim before she killed her. Not only that, the suspect also took money belonging to the office that the victim was carrying at the time.
