NEW YORK — A costumed killer is now in custody and faces murder charges in an execution-style murder on a Queens street, police said.

The 46-year-old victim, from Georgia, served time in federal prison but was released early and was killed just a few hundred feet from the motel where she was staying. Police released photos at the time, asking for the public’s help in identifying the gunman. .

It took a year and a half before police finally caught up with Reeder, who was thrown out of the police station on Thursday after being charged with murder. Information for Reeder’s attorney was not immediately available.
