Kenyan authorities arrested a man who posed as a lawyer without having a degree or any official training. The young man, 28 years old, defended several people in 26 cases, all of which he won.
Brian Mwenda Njagi has represented his clients before the Court of Appeal and the High Court of Kenya, but none of the judges suspected that the young man was not actually a lawyer.

However, The Kenya Bar Association became suspicious of the young man due to a complaint filed by lawyer Brian Mwenda Ntwiga, another man with the same name.
The man posed as Brian Mwenda Njagi with the data he collected on the Advocates portal.
The Law Society of Kenya contacted the real lawyer, who noted that he “had not applied for a practicing certificate since his admission, as he had been working at the Attorney General’s Office and did not require a practicing certificate.” .
When Ntwiga tried to log in, but the platform said that his details were incorrect, which is why he realized that someone manipulated his information.

The man was captured and accused of impersonating the real lawyer, however, the case has not been brought before a judge.
