Police in the North have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the fatal assault of a woman in Limerick city. The assault happened on Tuesday afternoon at a home on Dock Road. Following a murder investigation launched by Gardaí, the man was arrested. The Garda Technical Bureau is continuing to examine two scenes in Limerick, and authorities are appealing for information from the public. A postmortem examination of the woman’s body was carried out, but the results are being withheld for operational reasons. An incident room has been set up at Henry Street Garda station, and a family liaison officer has been appointed.
