The military police arrested a 28-year-old man on Saturday afternoon for trying to hitch a ride on a train. At the central station he climbed onto the vehicle and sat on the space between the locomotive and a wagon.
When the man was spotted, the driver had to make an emergency stop. He was then arrested at Schiphol and remains in custody for the time being, the military police said in a message. It is still unclear why the man wanted to hitch a ride.
