A man was arrested for attacking a flight attendant on a United Airlines flight on Monday after he tried to open an emergency exit door, several American media reports including CNN.

“Thanks to the quick response of our crew and that of other passengers, one passenger was brought under control,” United Airlines said in a statement, adding that “no serious injuries were reported.”

The airline also indicated that it was cooperating with the authorities: “we have zero tolerance for any type of violence on our flights, and this customer will be prohibited from flying on United while the investigation is done”.
