Man arrested after shooting incident at Parisian fast food restaurant

Several shots were fired Tuesday evening in a kebab restaurant located Porte d’Orléans in Paris (XIV). Two young men in their twenties opened fire, we learned, confirming information of the Parisian. A suspect was arrested shortly after and taken into custody.

The facts occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Avenue du Général-Leclerc, at Planet-Food. A customer, who was waiting for his order at the restaurant counter, was targeted by another young man. The latter presented himself at the entrance of Planet-Food, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots. The victim also drew a weapon and opened fire. The two men then fled in a hurry.

Witnesses alerted the police, who arrived on the scene a few minutes after the exchange of fire. Officials did not find any traces of blood, but did discover several bullet holes from small arms, as well as an undamaged 6.35 caliber cartridge.

A little later, a 21-year-old man presented himself to the police, claiming that he was the victim of this attempted murder. Living at Porte de Montrouge, he was taken into custody in the premises of the third judicial police district (DPJ) for illegal possession of a firearm. For the time being, the motive for this attempted murder has not yet been elucidated, but the trail of a settling of accounts in the neighborhood seems very likely.
