Man arrested after shooting in Tøyen – VG

The shooting took place on Saturday in Tøyen Torg at 9.15pm.

A man in his 20s was charged with attempted murder after an 18-year-old was shot and seriously injured in Tøyen over the weekend.

VG has so far been unable to make contact with the defendant’s lawyer, so it is unclear how he will react to the allegations.

Unit leader Grete Lien Metlid told VG that the man was arrested in the Oslo area on Wednesday evening.

– The person has been known to the police from before.

Police also believe there is a relationship between the accused and the victim, Metlid says.

Neither the victim nor the accused were questioned by the police.

The 18-year-old man was shot in the upper body.

The shooting took place in Tøyen Torg, where there were many people in restaurants and catering establishments on Saturday evening.

VG witnesses spoke shortly after, describing a dramatic situation in which the shooting victim approached and asked for help to call 113.

He is said to have received help to stop the bleeding of people at the scene before the ambulance arrived.

The 18-year-old was hospitalized with serious injuriesbut on Sunday it became clear that the man was out of danger.
