Man arrested after man’s death on the Singel in Amsterdam

The police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Belgium for involvement in the death of a man who was found earlier this week in the heart of Amsterdam. It was also announced that the victim was 22 and was from England.

The body became Wednesday found early in the morning by a witness on the Singel. The witness told AT5/SMALL that the victim was covered in blood. According to local residents, the victim was probably injured on the other side of the canal and then he would have continued to the place where he was later found. The police cannot confirm this and say that the investigation is still ongoing.

The suspect was due to appear before the examining magistrate today. He decided that he would remain incarcerated for the next two weeks.

The team investigating the man’s death hopes that people who have seen or heard anything will come forward.
