At 15.39 the police received a report that a man in his 30s had injured several people on Skjoldavegen in Flotmyr in Haugesund.
– We were told that he threatened several people with a gun, says operations manager Jøran Solheim in the police to NRK.
He is said to have hit several people with the gas pistol.
– Four people are said to be injured. One has been taken to hospital, and three to emergency room.
There should not be any serious injuries.
Witnesses tell
The police arrested the man 17 minutes after they were notified of the incidents.

NRK has spoken to two people who say they were attacked by the man. They were random passers-by on their way home from work.
They do not want to give their names, but say that the man hit them with the gas pistol.
According to the two, the perpetrator should have hit the head of one of them, but hit the shoulder instead. The other person had a bicycle which he raised at the perpetrator.

Then the perpetrator dropped the gas pistol and they ran away from him. The perpetrator continued down the street, and they tell NRK that they saw him attack other people.
A basket ceiling arose
The perpetrator is also said to have threatened a car just before he was arrested. The police inform NRK that he must have collided with four other cars.
After this, he is said to have left the car, then lost the weapon he was in possession of.
It was here at the bus terminal in Haugesund that the perpetrator was arrested.

– At the bus station in Flotmyr, a fight broke out between the perpetrator and some witnesses, they were able to take the gas weapon from the perpetrator, says task leader Christian Alfredsen.
Shortly afterwards, armed police are said to have arrived at the scene and arrested the man in his 30s.
Four cars were damaged when the man threatened one of the cars.

– There are many witnesses. Many are offended. We are now conducting a number of witness interviews and securing clues at the scene. There are several crime scenes, says task leader Alfredsen.
The Flotmyr area is close to the center of Haugesund.
