Authorities arrested the suspect for trying to persuade a girl to get in his car while touching her private parts in Brooklyn, New York City Police announced.
According to the police report, the 12-year-old was walking home from school on Monday when the suspect approached in a car near Essex Street and Dumont Avenue around 2:25 in the afternoon.
At the time, the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Verlon Thomas from Queens, would have tried to get the girl into the car by telling him he was carrying her, police said. This, while masturbating, added the uniformed woman.
Thomas was arrested Tuesday after someone called 9-1-1 and was charged with trying to lure a minor.
The little girl was not injured.
Authorities did not release further details and the case remains under investigation.
