A 35-year-old man from Nieuw-Vennep (North Holland) was arrested on Tuesday in a criminal investigation into (online) child sexual abuse. The National Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) reported this on Friday.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, there are indications that the man is guilty of committing fornication and producing and distributing child pornography.
Police arrested the man at home. The examining magistrate in Rotterdam decided on Friday that he will be detained for two weeks longer.
The investigation by the Combating Child Pornography and Child Sex Tourism Team is “in full swing”, according to the Public Prosecution Service. That investigation is led by the National Public Prosecutor’s Office. The police are investigating seized data carriers from the man.
