The suspect, John Henry James, drew the attention of police around 6:30 p.m. May 26 for not staying in his lane. When the officers tried to stop him, the man drove away at lightning speed. The police then gave chase, but James did not just let himself be caught.
The chase, which involved high speeds and James hitting several officers’ cars, performing dangerous maneuvers and even driving over a lancing device that detonated his tires, eventually lasted 40 minutes.

Fluffy hair
When the man got out of the car after the wild ride, he turned out to be holding a baby, barely two months old, in his arms. It is not yet clear whether it is his own child. In an attempt to escape, he threw the child at a rushing officer and ran away. The bizarre news was released this week.
“I’ve seen crazy things, but this really beats everything,” Jacob Curby, the cop who caught the child, told CBS12 News.
Fortunately, the baby was unharmed and police were able to get it to safety. “He’s just a cute little baby with fluffy hair. He also had a cute outfit on,” Curby said. “Luckily we were able to catch him before the suspect tripped or fell or maybe tried to carjack someone else.”
To bite
The man was eventually arrested. He resisted, kicking and biting the officers as they tried to handcuff him. “I’m tired, bro, and I’m out of breath,” he shouted to the officers during the arrest. After that, James was examined in the hospital, also because he smelled of alcohol. In the meantime, the man is in prison with no possibility of release with bail. He is charged with child abuse, among other things.
