Man (31) arrested for suspicious package at police station in Den Bosch

A 31-year-old man was arrested because he deposited a suspicious package at the police station on Vogelstraat in his hometown of Den Bosch on Thursday morning. He was seen on CCTV footage.

Police officers found a suspicious package in front of the main entrance of the station around 7:30 am. After an initial investigation by Team Explosives Reconnaissance (TEV), the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) was called up.

The police station and a number of surrounding buildings were evacuated as a precaution. The access roads around the office were also closed.

The EOD took X-rays with a remote-controlled robot. No explosives were seen in these photos.

At 11 o’clock the police officers were able to re-enter the station. The Forensic Investigation Department has still carried out investigations and secured possible traces.
