Earlier this week, police arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of sexual assault and child pornography. According to police, the man incited dozens of Dutch underage girls to engage in sexual acts for years, which he captured on video.
According to police, the man from the South Dutch village of Piershil, below Rotterdam, was active on social media such as Snapchat under a pseudonym, where he got in touch with the victims.
After chatting with the girls, he threatened them and forced them to perform sexual acts on camera. The man then used that footage to blackmail the victims. According to the police, this happened between November 2018 and June 2022.
Man overcome by complaints
Police traced the man after a police analyst raised the alarm about a “disturbing trend in reports coming to various police departments”. The suspect was arrested by the Rotterdam Unit’s Child Pornography and Child Sex Tourism Squad.
The man presented himself today before the investigating judge. He has decided that he will be detained for another two weeks, reports the regional broadcaster Rijnmond.
