In the dune area near Groede in Zeeland, a 23-year-old man from Breskens was stabbed this morning. He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in serious condition, police said.
The police received a report at 4.35 am that a man had been stabbed in the dunes. Officers found the seriously injured man at a dune crossing.
Six people were arrested this morning. Two of them, boys who were in the dune area early this morning, have now been released, reports Broadcasting Zeeland. Two 17-year-old girls from Oostburg and two 17-year-old boys from Maastricht were arrested at a nearby campsite. Their role in the incident is being investigated.
The police are looking for witnesses to the incident in the dune area around the Walendijk near Breskens and Groede.
