A man shot ten people in a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado. The victims are women and men between the ages of 20 and 65. A policeman was also shot dead. A 21-year-old suspect was arrested. The man is said to be from Syria.
US President Biden appealed to the Senate to pass two laws that should make it more difficult to buy a weapon: “We have to fill the loopholes and step up the background checks.”
The suspect was shot in the leg and treated at the hospital before being sent to Boulder Jail.
Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold said: “The suspect is Ahmad Alissa, 21 years old. He has been charged with murder on ten counts. Charges have been brought.”
US media reports that the man came to the US from Syria as a 3-year-old. His motive is unclear.
