As far as VG knows, the 20-year-old was shot several times.

At 22.22 Thursday night the police were notified that a person had been shot close to Lofsrud school in Mortensrud. The 20-year-old man was critically injured and was taken to hospital.

On Friday afternoon, the police inform that the man has now been declared dead. The relatives have been notified.

– Now there is an extensive homicide investigation, we have invested a lot of resources also over the weekend. There are currently no arrests, and we work throughout the evening and weekend, says police inspector Grete Lien Metlid to VG.

– Do you also apply outside national borders?

– Now we are applying broadly, so far we can not give any more information about it.

She further says that there are no suspects or accused in the case at present.

– We noticed a great commitment in the case and it is a committed local community. We still want tips – it is important that those who know something contact the police.

Witnesses VG has been in contact with tells that they have heard five or six shots from the area.

On Friday morning, police inspector Grete Lien Metlid held a press conference on the case – see it here:

– So far we do not know anything about what happened and who is behind it, nor can we say anything for sure if it is one or more, but we are working on this and we have some more information than what we go out with so early today, Grete Lien Metlid told VG on Friday morning.

Then they thought that the shooting was probably not aimed at the now dead 20-year-old.

– There are several people in the area when the shooting takes place, so for the time being we will not define it as targeted at a person, but we do not rule it out.

The shooting is part of the series of shootings in Oslo recently – Read more about it here.
