Mamta Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav agree on new front, both will maintain equal distance from Congress

Kolkata. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav met Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Friday. After this, he said that the three main opposition parties of the Center have decided to distance themselves from the Congress and the BJP. In this sequence, Mamta Banerjee will also meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is the head of Biju Janata Dal, next week. In fact, these opposition parties believe that the BJP is portraying Rahul Gandhi as the main leader of a group of opposition parties, which should be answered. Recently, during a speech in London, Rahul Gandhi had said that the microphones of opposition leaders are switched off in the Indian Parliament, on which BJP MPs have asked the Congress leader to apologize to the country. Now other opposition parties suspect that BJP is targeting all of them along with Rahul Gandhi.

Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay has said that Rahul Gandhi had made comments abroad and now BJP will not allow Parliament to function until Rahul apologizes. It simply means that they do not want to run the Parliament using the Congress. The BJP wants Rahul Gandhi to become the face of the opposition so that it will help the BJP. He said that there is no need to decide on the face of the Prime Minister’s post right now. At the same time, it is also an illusion that the Congress is the ‘Big Boss’ of the opposition. We will keep equal distance from both Congress and BJP and will discuss it with other parties. We are not saying that this is the third front, but the regional parties have the power to stop the BJP.

The party has termed the meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and Mamta Banerjee in Kolkata as a courtesy call.

We want to maintain equal distance from both BJP and Congress
Akhilesh Yadav has confirmed that he wants to maintain an equal distance from both the Congress and the BJP. Yadav told reporters in Kolkata, “In Bengal, we are with Mamta didi. Right now our stand is that we want to maintain equal distance from both BJP and Congress. Referring to former opposition party leaders, Akhilesh Yadav said that ‘those who take advantage of the ‘BJP vaccine’ do not care about CBI, ED or I-T. The cases were dropped by the central investigative agencies after some leaders joined the BJP. Yadav said that many opposition party leaders are being harassed. Manish Sisodia of the Aam Aadmi Party and Lalu Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and their families were recently questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate.
