Two Malayalam films entered the international competition section of the 27th Kerala International Film Festival organized by the Kerala State Film Academy. Nanpakal Neerath Mayakkum directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery with Mammootty and Mahesh Narayanan with Kunchhacko Boban in the lead role.
12 films were presented in the Malayalam Cinema Today category. Sanalkumar Sasidharan’s Fight, Thousand and One Lies by Thamar KV, Amal Prasi’s Leftovers, Kamal KM’s Pata, Pratish Prasad’s Normal, Drate Depression by Aravind H, Raarish G’s Hounds and Runners, Siddhartha Shiva’s, Satish Babusenan and Santosh Babusenan’s children dead, Films are Priyanandanan TR’s Dhabari Kyuruvi, Akhil Anilkumar, Kunhila Masilamani, Francis Lewis, Geo Baby and Jithin Isaac Thomas’s anthology Freedom Fight and Indu VS’s 191A. The films were selected by a committee headed by director R Sarath and made up of Jeeva KJ, directors Sherry, Ranjith Shankar and Anuraj Manohar.
Nankakal Neerath Mayakam is the Mammootty film that audiences are looking forward to. The film’s release date has yet to be announced. The announcement of Mahesh Narayanan’s film Kunchacko Boban will arrive on Netflix.
