THIRUVANANTHAPURAM – The packed audience at Nishagandhi Auditorium waited with bated breath to witness the state film award distribution ceremony for one person; Mammootty won the best actor award. Whenever Mammootty’s name was mentioned, including the Chief Minister’s, the audience erupted into applause. But Mammootty did not come to the function due to the death of his sister the other day. Director Lijo Jose Pellissery received the award for him. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who came to the award distribution ceremony during the assembly session, returned after distributing only half of the awards including the major awards.
As he had to leave, the one-minute short film about the winner, which was shown on the electronic screen behind the stage when the award was presented, was cut in half. Music director M. Jayachandran and others were given the award by Minister Saji Cherian. Devi Verma, the most senior among the award winners, came to the stage with her assistant to collect the award for Best Character Actress. TV Chandran, who won the JC Daniel award, presented it to Pavitra, the producer of the film ‘Kabani Nadi Nadi Poule’, where he made his debut as an actor. Shyamaprasad presented the award for comprehensive contribution to the TV industry to his late wife Sheeba. The Minister honored the Canadian Department of Culture delegation at the award ceremony.

Thiruvananthapuram – DaVinci, a native of Thrissur Vellangallur, came to the stage to receive the state film award for the best child actor with Pallotti sweets to present to the Chief Minister. Da Vinci won the award for his performance in the movie ‘Pallotti 90 Kids’. Da Vinci came to the award stage with Pallotti sweets packet remembering this movie. Before receiving the award, he gave it to the Chief Minister saying that it was a pallotti candy. Smiling, the chief minister put his hand on Da Vinci’s head and said, ‘Eat yourself’ and returned the candy. Then the award was presented.
