Thiruvananthapuram: State Film Awards 2023 will be announced tomorrow. There are about forty films in the final round including Katalum, Aadujeetvum 2018 and Falimi. Rich with stories of survival, 2018 and the heart of soul conflict played out, the year saw the main films back-to-back in strong competition in the final round of state film awards.

A surprise for Mammootty with George and Mathew at Kannur team? Prithviraj, who worked for many years and became the Najib of a goat’s life? Or someone else to act in unreleased movies? There are so many questions about who will be the best actor. Mammootty was the best actor last year too.

This time there was a tough competition for the best actress award as well. Urvashi who played Leelamma in Ullozhuk and Parvathy Thiruvoth who played Anju are reportedly being considered for the best actress award. Anaswara Rajan with her live performance followed by Kalyani Priyadarshan with her film Fatima on the microphone.

Gio Babyo, Blasio and Cristo Tomomi are also eagerly waiting to see who is the best leader. It remains to be seen whether AR Rahman will become the best music director of his lifetime, or whether the award will go to Sushin Shyam.

There are 160 films for the competition. 84 of these are with discussion leaders. There are also many films that were not released in theaters but received attention at international festivals. The award is decided by a jury chaired by Sudhir Mishra. It is possible that this time it will be possible to proceed without any controversy regarding the decision of the award last time.
