One is two years younger than me, but his name is still Dasetta: Mammootty
Mammootty says Yesudas is two or three years younger than him. However, Mammootty said he is called Dasetan out of respect. He also said that it’s like old people call him Mammooka. He was speaking at a program held as part of Yesudas’ birthday.
Mammootty said that Yesudas birthday is also the film music anniversary and there is no music besides him. The actor said that one day he doesn’t start without his song and his voice can be heard wherever he goes.
“Dasetan and I have only been separated for a year or two. But it’s just that Polly is younger than me. I call him Dasetta out of respect. I call it as many people call me Mammooka. We celebrate not only Dasetan’s birthday.
We also celebrate the anniversary of film music and music. Beyond Dasetan, we have no music apart from him. Our day doesn’t start with just a song. Without Dasetan we can’t go on a journey, we can’t do anything. Wherever you go, you can hear the commercial buzzing somewhere.

Mammootty’s latest film released in theaters is Roshaak which was directed by Nizam Basheer and released in October 2022. Bindu Panicker, Jagadish, Kottayam Naseer, Grace Antony and Asif Ali played other notable roles in the film. The film was well received in theaters.
