Maluka World Championship in the short pool ends with the 23rd place in the 200-meter complex swimming; Nikitina 39th place in the 50-meter freestyle

Maluka reached the time of two minutes and 13.56 seconds, lagging behind the best time in the preliminaries by 9.32 seconds and in the final, where the eight fastest swimmers will start without entering.

Meanwhile, Nikitina finished in the freestyle at 50 meters in 25.72 seconds, which was 2.41 seconds slower than the best time shown in the preliminaries. Nikitina did not reach the semi-finals, where 16 swimmers will start. In total, 89 athletes competed in this distance.

It has already been reported that on Thursday, Maluka was ranked 27th in the 200-meter freestyle, but 17-year-old Ronnen Kerman won his 28th place in the 200-meter pool in his 25-meter pool debut. On Friday, Maluka took the 35th place in the 100-meter freestyle discipline, but on Saturday he took the 27th place in the 100-meter complex swimming.

Nikitin, on the other hand, took 30th place in the 50-meter butterfly-style discipline, while Kerman took 33rd place in the 100-meter complex swim.

Taking into account the fact that Daniila Bobrova was left out of the list of participants due to a positive Covid-19 test, the Latvian team had the relay relay. The athlete himself has stated that he feels good and has not observed any symptoms of the disease.

The 15th FINA World Championship in the 25-meter swimming pool in Abu Dhabi will take place from 16 to 21 December, with coaches Julia Kuzmin and Sergejs Kurmeļs, as well as physiotherapist Paula Pole, together with Latvian athletes.
