The users of LZsport on Instagram honored this and voted Meyer the first magic foot of the week in the new football season. Meyer won with a total of 489 votes (45 percent) ahead of Niklas Volpe from TuS Reppenstedt (two-goal scorer in Küsten) with 266 votes (23 percent), Lars-Michel Riebesell (three-goal scorer for SV Eintracht Lüneburg) with 214 votes (20 percent) and Justin Fahrenholz (two goals for SV Ilmenau in the 2-2 draw against LSK II) with 144 votes (13 percent).
“It couldn’t have been better,” said Meyer about his two goals after coming on as a substitute against Lindwedel. That and being voted Magic Foot of the Week is the perfect incentive for Meyer for the district cup match against MTV Treubund on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. on the Sülzwiesen.
